Roimata Kawakawa Pounamu Silver Pendant

$295.00

Hand carved Kawakawa Pounamu Roimata which is dark green with flecks of black and polished to a high sheen. Approx 60mm in length and 17mm at its widest point incased in a fine silver bezel and recycled sterling silver back. Quite the statement piece.

The Roimata which means "Tear Drop" is a comfort stone representing strength and courage. It can be gifted to people in times of grief to signify they are not alone through tough times.

Can come by itself or with a sterling silver chain of your choice pictured below as an add on, you choose.

Pounamu or Greenstone (Nephrite/Jade) is regarded as a stone sacred to the gods by Māori of Aotearoa/New Zealand. Its Tāonga (meaning treasured) is said to increase in Mana (prestige) as it is passed on through generations.

More than just a beautiful art form, pounamu can represent ancestors, connection with the natural world, or attributes such as strength, prosperity, love, and harmony.

Pounamu is so durable, which I love. Whilst it is a hard stone to shape and polish it will last a life time. To polish you just use your own oils from your skin, or I like to put a little bit of Kawakawa Balm on it to make it shine, made by my Aunty from Old School Soap, Carterton. www.oldschoolsoap.co.nz
